COOKIE POLICY
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones treede.ch uses, and how you control them. Short version: this website currently sets no cookies at all. If that ever changes, this page will list every cookie before it is used.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the website recognise your browser again, for example to keep you logged in, to remember a preference or to measure how the site is used. Cookies that expire when you close the browser are called session cookies; cookies that stay for a defined period are persistent cookies. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are first-party cookies; cookies set by other companies through that website are third-party cookies.
Similar technologies store information in your browser without using a cookie, in particular local storage and session storage. This policy covers them as well.
2. What this website uses today
treede.ch sets no cookies, first-party or third-party. It runs no analytics, shows no advertising and embeds no third-party content. Fonts, images and styles are served from our own domain. The only entry stored in your browser is created when you dismiss the cookie notice:
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| treede-notice | Local storage, not a cookie | treede.ch, only after you click "Got it" | Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so it is not shown again | Until you delete your browser data for treede.ch |
This entry is not transmitted to us or to anyone else and cannot be used to identify or track you. Because it only records a choice you made yourself, it is strictly necessary and requires no consent.
3. Cookies that may be introduced later
As treede develops, we may need cookies or similar technologies. They would fall into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary: required to deliver the website securely, for example a session cookie for a login or a security cookie set by our hosting provider Cloudflare when protection features such as bot mitigation are active (typically named
cf_clearance,__cf_bmor__cfruid). These do not require consent, but they will be listed in section 2 before they are used. - Functional: remember preferences such as language or units.
- Analytics: help us understand how the site is used.
- Marketing: measure or personalise advertising. We do not plan to use these.
Our commitment: before we introduce any cookie or storage entry that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent through a consent dialog on this website. Nothing non-essential will be set before you agree, you will be able to refuse as easily as to accept, and you will be able to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. This page will be updated at the same time.
4. Legal basis
We are based in Switzerland. Article 45c of the Swiss Telecommunications Act (FMG) requires us to inform you about the storage of data on your device, its purpose and your right to refuse it, which this page does. Where cookies involve personal data, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies.
Where the GDPR applies to a visitor, the storing of and access to information on your device is governed by Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive as implemented in the relevant member state. Strictly necessary cookies rest on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); any other cookie rests on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
5. How you control cookies
You can view, block and delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Blocking cookies can limit the functions of websites that rely on them; on treede.ch it has no effect today. To reset the cookie notice on this site, delete the site data for treede.ch in your browser.
6. Third-party websites
This site links to external services, including the early access form on Microsoft Forms and our profiles on Instagram and LinkedIn. Once you follow such a link, the cookies and privacy terms of that provider apply. We have no control over them.
7. Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever the cookies or similar technologies used on treede.ch change. The date below shows the latest revision.
